Selected Works
2025–2026

Exploring the intersection of literature, artificial intelligence, and image-making, this body of work examines how technology shapes the futures we actively construct. Each piece originates as a poem before evolving through machine-mediated interpretation and human refinement into physical and holographic form.

Artist Statement

Zach Ramsey’s multidisciplinary practice begins with the written word. Each work originates as a poem, establishing authorship and conceptual foundation before being transmuted through artificial intelligence systems into visual form. Ramsey then edits, composites, and refines these outputs through extensive post-production, producing final works as large-scale prints or holographic installations.By merging literature with machine-mediated image-making, his practice explores how technology shapes not only contemporary identity, but the futures we actively construct. The work reflects on artificial intelligence while simultaneously employing it, treating technology not as spectacle, but as a deliberate creative instrument.Through this process, Ramsey considers how emerging systems can be used mindfully, asking what it means to author images and ultimately realities in an increasingly digitized world.

Holophage Series

(Hologram Installation Display)

The Holophage Series presents motion-based visual works as sculptural holographic installations. Each piece is paired with a permanent blockchain-based certificate linking the digital transmission to its corresponding physical artifact, forming a unified dual-medium work.

Holophage: Concept & Vision

Holophage™ is a speculative media installation that presents itself as a recovered cultural artifact from a distant future. The work uses holographic display technology to reveal transmissions from a post-human archive…  pristine, looping signals rendered as three-dimensional visual sequences suspended in open air.

Projected through high-speed LED hologram fans, these perfectly preserved data-forms include luminous portraits, synthetic alphabets, depictions of advanced cities & technologies, ceremonial objects and ritual motions. The transmissions are not remnants of decay, but immaculate fragments of an alternate timeline, delivered to our present moment with eerie clarity.

Rather than tell a linear story, Holophage functions as a mythic archive of fragments. Each projection serves as an autonomous artifact, inviting interpretation and speculation. The viewer becomes a future archaeologist, piecing together meaning from signals not yet meant for them.

Artist Statement

Holophage imagines a future in which our cultural memory is not lost or corrupted, but perfectly preserved, encoded in crystalline transmissions that outlast their creators. The work invites us to witness these echoes before they arrive, and to question how the clarity of information transforms into the ambiguity of myth. It explores how technology may not just document history, but compose its own future legends.

Each Holophage transmission is inseparably paired with a cryptographically secured NFT that serves as both a certificate of authenticity and a statement of ownership. This pairing binds the physical and digital into a unified artifact, reinforcing the work’s central inquiry: how will we archive what has not yet occurred and who will be trusted to hold it?

NFT Integration and Provenance

Each Holophage unit is sold and exhibited with a corresponding NFT that:

  • Authenticates the artwork

  • Confirms ownership and originality

  • Is permanently linked to the specific hologram hardware

  • Cannot be separated or resold independently of the physical component

  • Legally and artistically defines the object as a dual-medium artifact

This pairing is an integral part of the artistic concept and is protected as such.

Series Format

Entries are presented as numbered or titled segments within the Holophage archive. Each entry is self-contained yet contributes to an evolving speculative mythology.
